The results were announced on March 14, 2014 (Heisei 26). The required pass mark was 81 out of a possible 163, but I managed to score 101, which was a hard-earned achievement. I had specialized in the natural sciences up until that point and started with almost no knowledge of the welfare field. Therefore, even with that score, I believe I did well. All the hardships I had endured—such as submitting 30 reports for the general training course and completing dozens of days of internship—were rewarded when I passed the national exam for psychiatric social workers.

合格発表は、2014（平成26）年3月14日に行われました。合格基準点が163点満点で81点のところ、私は辛くも101点を取ることができ、幸運にも合格を果たすことができました。まあ、それまで自然科学を専門的に学んできたわけで、福祉の領域については知識がほとんどない状態から勉強してきたわけですから、このような点数ではあっても上出来だったのではないかと思います。それまでの一般養成課程で30本にもおよぶレポートの提出ですとか、何十日にもおよんだ実習での苦しみも、精神保健福祉士合格で報われることになりました。
