Elderly people resting in simple folding beds
However, in reality, I was shocked to see that elderly people were actually resting in simple folding beds. I myself have experienced something close to a sleep disorder in the past, and the hardness of the bed often bothered me—I would toss and turn all night and have trouble falling asleep. I also frequently woke up in the morning feeling as if I had not slept enough, unable to get the refreshed feeling that comes from a good night's sleep. So, to be honest, I felt sorry for the elderly who had to rest on such simple beds. Even if the cost was low, this was the reality.

簡易ベッドで休まれる高齢者
しかし実際のところ、簡易ベッドで高齢者がお休みになっているという現実に、私自身は愕然とすることになりました。私自身、睡眠障害に近い状態になったことがあって、ベッドの硬さが気になって、四六時中寝返りを打つばかりで、なかなか眠りにつけないことがあったり、よく眠ったという爽快感がなかなかえられずに、朝起きても寝足りないと思うことがよくあったりしたものでした。なので、こんな、簡易ベッドで休まなければならない高齢者に対して、心の中では、正直にいえば、かわいそうだという思いがありました。格安で宿泊することができるとは言っても、こういう現実があるわけです。
