Eligibility to take the national exam
Until then, I had worked as a caregiver with a Level 2 Home Helper qualification, as well as a Certified Psychiatric Social Worker qualification—which, unfortunately, was rarely given much recognition in the field of elderly care. While gaining various experiences in the field of elderly care, my primary focus remained the study of human behavior related to human nature—particularly caregiving for elderly parents—from the perspective of evolutionary genetics. To be honest, I was not particularly concerned about my qualifications, as I had been working as a caregiver partly to support my research financially to some extent. During this time, while working concurrently at the group home for dementia care D and the day service facility C, I became eligible, at least formally, to take the national examination for certified care workers.

介護福祉士
受験資格
これまでは、ヘルパー2級、および、高齢者介護の世界ではほとんど顧みられることのなかった精神保健福祉士という資格を持って介護職として勤務してきました。介護の現場でいろいろな体験を積み重ねながら、高齢者、特に年老いた親を介護するという人間本性にも関わる人間行動を進化遺伝学的な観点から考察していくことが私の本分だと考えていましたし、その研究をいくらかでも自分自身で経済的にサポートするために、介護職としての仕事をしてきたこともあり、正直なところ、自分の資格的な立場にはそれほど強いこだわりはありませんでした。そんななか、認知症対応型グループホームDとデイサービスセンターCでダブルワークしていた時に、介護福祉士国家試験を受験するための資格が一応得られることになりました。
