Honestly, I think the number of care workers at this facility was fundamentally insufficient. When I looked at the staff shift schedule, I could not help but wonder if it was really okay. For example, during my shifts following the night shift, there were quite a few days when no early-shift staff members were available. In other words, I had to manage the floor by myself and assist the clients with breakfast until the day shift staff arrived. When I worked night shifts at other care facilities, it was rare for there to be no staff scheduled for the early shift. There were quite a few times when no one was scheduled for the day shift, but honestly, I had never experienced having to assist clients with breakfast on my own after a night shift—without any early shift staff—at any other facility. (This excludes my experience at the overnight day service facility, where there were only a few clients.)
