My internship instructor reassured me that instead of trying to simply fill in the list of questions, I should begin with topics that clients find easy to talk about, that this would make it easier to get them to open up, and that I did not need to rush because I would naturally learn this through experience. However, since what the internship instructor pointed out is something that is usually acquired through many years of experience, I believe the comments were quite advanced, especially considering that the assessment interview was almost my first experience. Deep down, I felt there was no way I could manage something like that in my very first interview. However, I was still grateful for the harsh criticism, as it was an invaluable and important part of my internship experience.
