小規模多機能型居宅介護事業所というのは、居宅要介護者に対して、通いサービスを中心に、随時訪問サービスや宿泊サービスを組み合わせたサービスを提供する介護事業所です。例えば、デイサービスと訪問介護ヘルパー、ショートステイなどといったサービスが別々の事業所から提供された場合、当然のことながら、サービスを提供する事業所ごとに職員が異なるので、認知症の傾向のある利用者などの場合であれば、混乱してしまうこともあるかもしれませんが、小規模多機能型居宅介護事業所であれば、通い、宿泊、訪問のサービスが、いつもの見慣れた職員によって提供されることになるので、利用者にとってもより馴染みのある雰囲気の中でサービスを受けることができるというメリットがあります。
