Yesterday marked the end of the chapter, Certified Psychiatric Social Worker, Certified Care Worker, and Certified Care Manager. Thank you very much to everyone who stayed with me until the end.
I am currently preparing the English translation of the next chapter, Why Do We Care for Old Parents? I decided to work in the field of elderly care because I had studied the evolution of senescence in the UK and, after returning to Japan, I had the opportunity to care for my grandmother, who had dementia. I wished to explore elderly care—a form of human behavior that may at first glance appear maladaptive from an evolutionary genetic perspective—more deeply from that same perspective. Through my direct involvement in caregiving, I experienced its difficulties firsthand and reflected on my own experiences, including the many challenges and problems I encountered, within the framework of evolutionary genetics. I am now in the process of translating these thoughts and ideas into English.

「精神保健福祉士、介護福祉士、介護支援専門員」の章は、昨日で最終回となりました。最後までお付き合いをいただいた皆様、どうもありがとうございました。
現在は、その次の章、「なぜ年老いた親を介護するのか？」について準備しているところです。介護の現場で介護職として働こうと考えたのは、イギリスで老化の進化について研究していたことと、その後日本に帰国した時に認知症となった祖母の介護が重なったことから、高齢者の介護という、進化遺伝学的には一見非適応的に見える人間の行動を、さらに深いところから考察したいと考えたからでした。実際に、自分の身をもってその困難さを体験し、そこで感知されたいろいろな困難や問題点など、自身の身をもって感じたことを、進化遺伝学を背景に考察しました。その時に考えたことなどを英語に翻訳しています。
新年の3月ごろから投稿を始めていく予定を立てています。もしよろしかったらお付き合いいただければ幸いです。よろしくお願いします。
