In this study, I focused on one elderly couple (hereafter referred to as Mr. and Mrs. A). I chose them because I had my own experiences caring for their elderly parents, through which I knew that they had encountered a wide range of caregiving situations. For this reason, I believed they were well suited to this study. In addition, I assumed that if they were to need care support in the future, I would be the person responsible for creating their care plans. From the perspective of continuity in care management, I therefore felt this would be appropriate, as it would allow me to monitor their situation over time.

私は、ここでの研究において、ある一組の高齢者夫婦に焦点を当てることにしました（以後、A氏およびA夫人と表すことにします）。なぜならば、私はA夫妻の年老いた親を実際に介護した経験があり、それゆえ、彼らには自分の年老いた親を介護するという経験において、経験の量としても多いだけではなく、実際に様々な種類の経験をしてきたことを私自身よく知っていたため、本研究にとって最も適していると考えたためです。加えて、彼らが将来ケアサポートを必要とするようになった場合に、私が彼らのケアプランを作成することになると考えられていましたので、継続的に彼らの経過を観察することができるため、彼らのケアマネジメントの連続性という観点からも適切なのではないかと考えました。
