Abstract of the submitted paper
I decided to compile into a paper the results of the interviews I conducted with Mr. and Mrs. A. As expected, the experience of caring for elderly parents appears to have a significant impact on how individuals envision their own later life. For example, the experience of caring for their mother, who had dementia, did not necessarily lead Mr. and Mrs. A to form a pessimistic image of living with dementia. Instead, it seems to have helped them reach a state of mind in which they could accept dementia as a possible fate of their own, feeling that if they could meet their end peacefully as their mother did, it would not be a problem. This study therefore offers some suggestions for developing a better perspective on our own elderly care.

投稿論文の要旨
このときにAご夫妻にご協力をいただいて行ったインタビューの結果を用いて、論文にまとめることにしました。やっぱり、自分自身の年老いた親を介護したときの経験は、その人の老後に対するイメージに対して、とても大きな影響を持っているのではないかと思います。例えば、認知症の母親を介護したときの経験は、Aご夫妻に、自分自身が認知症になることについて、必ずしも悲観的なイメージを与えることはなく、むしろ、母親のように穏やかに最後を迎えることができるならば、認知症になってもいいのではないかといったような、認知症を自分自身の運命として受け入れることができるような心境にまでなれていたのではないかと思います。自分自身のより良い高齢者介護観に向けて、いくつかの示唆が与えられたと考えています。
