Toulouse, France
When I arrived in Paris by plane, I remember that it was already late at night. I took a bus into central Paris and walked to my reserved accommodation near the Musée d'Orsay. Since I was there, I would have liked to visit the Musée d'Orsay and the Louvre, but I did not have enough time. Early the next morning, I took a long-distance train to Toulouse in southwestern France, where I was to meet a world authority on acetylcholinesterase and receive various criticisms and suggestions regarding my research. After the meeting, I returned to Paris that same day and departed for Munich, Germany, the following day. As a result, I could only stay in Paris at night and in the early morning, and I was unable to take the time to explore the museums at my leisure.

フランス・トゥールーズ
フランスのパリに飛行機で到着したときには、もうすでに夜遅くだったと思います。バスに乗ってパリの市街地まで出て、そこから歩いてオルセー美術館の近くに予約していた宿に泊まりました。せっかくなので、できればオルセー美術館やルーブル美術館などを巡りたかったのですが、このときはそのような時間を取ることができませんでした。次の早朝にはフランス南西部のトゥールーズにむけて長距離列車で移動しなければならず、アセチルコリンエステラーゼの世界的な権威に面会していただいて、自分が行ってきた研究についていろいろとご批判とご示唆を頂戴したのちに、その日のうちにパリまで戻り、次の日にはドイツのミュンヘンにむけて出発しなければならなかったためです。なので、パリには夜間、早朝だけしか滞在することができず、ゆっくりと美術館を巡る時間を取ることはできませんでした。
